Sarah and Graziella STF

Sarah has been producing young horses and operating her business “Stone’s Throw Farm” for the last 25 years.   After competing through the Advanced level Eventing, she now focusses on assisting other riders to achieve their dreams and giving young prospects a solid foundation.  Currently she hopes to compete her homebred 7 year old mare HiLite STF 4th level in 2023. She also has 3 other quality young horses that she will be developing this coming year. In the last few years, several non-warmblood breeds have found their way into her heart and she has a great affinity for such rare breeds as the Gelders, Cleveland Bay, and Cheval Canadian horses.

A majority of the young horses that Sarah has produced were raised and started under saddle herself. She believes when starting young horses over fences to begin their education both in-hand and through the jump chute.  This allows them the opportunity to become more body aware before the added weight of the rider. Most of the youngsters Sarah works with are trained through the beginning levels of eventing & dressage before being sold and enjoyed by their amateur riders!

In the fall of 2018, Sarah was certified with the US Eventing Association’s Instructor Certification Program as both a Young Event Horse Rider and Young Event Horse Instructor.  She is also a certified Level II USEA ICP instructor and gives back to the Area VII Young Rider program as one of the team selectors.  As a graduate “A” Pony Club rating, she continues to work with the local pony club and the Oregon Region.

In March of 2020, Stone’s Throw Farm relocated to Marianna Stables in the Wilsonville / West Linn / Portland, Oregon area to be closer to family.  It has been an exciting opportunity to begin a training and lesson program at a brand new premiere!
