Sarah has been producing young horses for the last 20+ years. In the fall of 2018, she was certified with the US Eventing Association’s Instructor Certification Program as both a Young Event Horse Rider and Young Event Horse Instructor. A majority of the young horses Sarah has broke herself and trained through beginning their eventing careers. Many were sold and are currently being enjoyed by their amateur riders. Sarah also owns a small scale Holsteiner breeding program with a few select mares bred for dressage and eventing. The “STF” at the end of some of the horses names denotes that they are homebred.
Sarah believes in focusing on a strong dressage foundation before slowly building confidence starting over fences. Oregon Horse Center has an excellent introductory XC course for the horses to school, complete with small banks, introductory water crossing, and solid obstacles such at logs & roll tops. There are also many schooling shows at OHC which help to useful show miles.
Sarah is also sponsored by Olson’s Tack Shop and Prestige Italia Saddles which offer a wide range of flocked dressage and jumping saddles with an adjustable tree + / - a size that can be adjusted in house at Olson’s Tack Shop in Bellevue, WA. Prestige Saddles are an excellent choice for young horses that are constantly growing and changing shape. Sarah currently rides in the DX Monoflap Event saddle.
